Historical Context

Seoul has been the capital for over 600 years. The palaces you visit date back to the Joseon Dynasty (1392-1910), meticulously restored after various invasions. N Seoul Tower, built in 1969, symbolizes the rapid modernization of Korea.

Photography Tips

  • Bring a fast lens (f/1.8 or lower) for low light
  • Tripods allowed in most parks but restricted inside some buildings
  • Use 'Night Mode' on smartphones for tower views

Insider Tips

  • Visit the restroom before leaving the market (public toilets are scarce elsewhere)
  • Buy a T-Money card for easy transport
  • Try the 'Mayak Gimbap' at Gwangjang Market - it's addictive!
  • The view from the N Seoul Tower bathroom is surprisingly famous

Our Partners

  • In partnership with Viator, TripAdvisor, and select local Korean agencies

Fun Facts

Highlight of our trip!

The night view from N Seoul Tower was breathtaking, but the highlight was definitely the food tour at Gwangjang Market. Our guide, Min, introduced us to so many dishes we wouldn't have tried on our own. Highly recommend!

Magical Palace Experience

Walking through Changgyeonggung Palace at night was surreal. The lighting makes the architecture look completely different than during the day. The guide was very knowledgeable about the Joseon Dynasty history.

Great overview of the city

We did the tour with the Han River cruise. It was a bit cold on the boat, but the views were worth it. The van transport between locations was very convenient.

Perfect for solo travelers

As a solo traveler, I was hesitant to explore at night alone. This small group tour was perfect. I made friends and felt completely safe. The Korean BBQ dinner included was delicious.

Efficient and Fun

We covered so much ground in 4 hours. Naksan Park offered a great alternative view of the city walls. The guide spoke excellent English and Japanese. A must-do on your first night.
